How To Get Involved With Dating?

Ok so I'm 16 years old and am not very socially involved. I like to focus on the quality of my schoolwork and that usually means my schedule consists of wake up, school, come home, homework, then sleep. The problem is, I really want to start dating, I feel like I'm all alone sometimes and it would be nice to have someone to talk to. The problem is, all of the girls at my school are either sluts or condescending (they think they're better than you) and I live in a predominantly elderly neighborhood. So, what should I do to find girls who are like me amd how would I approach them? Please nobody say school clubs.
