What happens if my illegal husband goes back to his country for a near death emergency......?

With his son in ecuador Can I bring Him back and continue his legalship papers out here? Please help I feel sorry ,confuse and very sad on top of all this my daughters birthday is tomorrow and I want to be Happy for her
