What exactly does the Religious Right mean by family values?

It is propaganda. Family values in their eyes do not include s who live together in love, do not include women and children who have been abandoned by their father and spouse. Do not include babies conceived out of wedlock, or the women who bore them. Their family values only include perfect people who have never made mistakes. It is not all encomping by any means. Maybe by the person who you spoke to, but she is a minority of one. Everyone's values shift when their personal cirstances shift.
