How to remove mold and mildew smell on my carpet?

Hi, I am wondering if anybody can give me any advices on removing the stinky milder smells on my carpet? What happened was, it got too cold at our house this winter, it got 25 below zero and we we're not home that time, and when we came back we found out that our pipe broke from the cold and it made a big mess on our carpet. I think it flooded 2 days on our house before we came back, then when we got home,I waited 24 hours before I vacuum it cause I never thought it'll get worst. Then when I vacuum the water out from it, I got about 30 gallons out from the carpet but I believe there was more left underneath the carpet. I sprayed a little bit of baking soda on it Cause I thought it may help but still, it didn't. Then, I washed it with soap and water and vacuum and dry it again with a fan but still it didn't help so next I mixed water and white vinger and sprayed it on the carpet hopefully this time it would work. It's been over 3 weeks now since we have the problem and still the carpet is still stinky even though I did my best to clean it up. Any advices will be appreciated. Thank you
