Is it important to petition for non-disclosure?

I have a cl B misdemeanor for shoplifting about 5 years ago and it was ruled no contest and now trying to be a medical istant and they do background checks and I was wondering if I get a non-disclosure petition and get the record sealed can the hospital still see my arrest?
